A man quits his job to take care of his dying grandmother, motivated by her wealth. He plans to win her over before she passes away. It strives to maintain a sense of well-being without getting too caught up in melodrama or stress. With a strong Japanese dramatic influence, the mood and tone set by the score give the film a charming and pleasant feel, not too sad. While some of the attempts at comic relief can seem a bit unnecessary, overall it finds a balance that keeps it from sinking into overwhelming sadness. Despite that, there are still plenty of scenes that will bring tears to your eyes.
