After that, it never appears
The movie seems to be setting up in the first 2 acts to give some interesting backstory to the characters. It drops vague tidbits about past traumas and connections between dead and living characters that spark interest. What is the connection between the father’s work as an architect and the way in which this creature is presented?
Why should the viewer care about anyone’s fate when there is little semblance of character development? The makers of this movie must have run out of time or budget, as the script feels not only vague, but also unfinished. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and creates tension and suspense that is put to good use with some creepy and scary moments.

That would have been enough to save the film, but with an ending that undoes the minor character development we’ve seen before. Instead, it opts for a nonsensical deus ex machina reminiscent of the ending re-shot for the British release of Invaders From Mars (1953). The last season of "What We Do in the Shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
