Plot

He’s smart

He’s adorable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During season 8, Angel Batista was not always played by David Zayas.

His son, David Zayas Jr

stands in for his father in some shots as they look remarkably similar. Dexter has a large scar on his left side that is visible during the first season. Later, in season 2, the scar has moved to his right side, leaving the left side unmarked.

Dexter creates a believable and highly detailed portrait, so to speak, of a troubled sociopath

Dexter, a forensic expert by day, a serial killer with a touch of vigilantism by night. One of my favorite parts of the show is the emotions that normal people display, forcing Dexter to mimic them. Good laughs when Dexter’s fake feelings become real and he is afraid, like with his “girlfriend” Rita, a mother of two and a victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend.

I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s acting as Dexter’s sister, Debra

She adds a lot of color to the show without falling into cliché. Emotional story, lots of detail, and one of the best opening sequences ever.
