Plot
Need a lawyer? He runs his law practice out of his Lincoln and is ready to hit the gas. As he moves around Los Angeles, he takes on cases while balancing his personal life, which includes fatherhood and living with two ex-wives.

Originally scheduled for a series commitment by CBS in 2020, it was canceled due to COVID shortly before the first episode began filming. Netflix has now picked it up for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, The Brass Verdict. Personalized California license plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, yet all of Mickey’s license plates have a minimum of eight.

This involves a practice and more side cases than he can handle. This intriguing premise creates a backdrop rich with opportunity for a legal drama.
This is consistently engaging, entertaining and fun – highly recommended
The series takes this, adds a strong cast, well-crafted and delivered dialogue and an interesting plot, and runs at a good pace. Some camera angles are clumsy, particularly the variable focus shots and some orange shading, but overall it works as intended. Mickey’s driver Izzy is often used as a plot explanation device, but while it’s obvious, it seems natural and fits the narrative.
